Latest News

Hi, everyone!

I’m Susan Greenbaum, a singer-songwriter based in Richmond, Va., and I’m very happy that you’ve found my Website!

Please feel free to mill around, have a listen and a look, and check out the schedule and whatever else you find interesting here. You can also e-mail me; I’ll do my very best to respond personally to every e-mail I get.

I consider it an honor to write and play music for people. I’m grateful for the amazing support I’ve received from fans who come to our shows, buy our CDs, send words of encouragement, and generally make me so happy that I changed careers to follow my dream of being a full-time artist. You all have made my dream come true, and I am very grateful to all of you!

Thank you so much for visiting, and I hope I’ll have the chance to sing for you live, sometime soon!

State Song Update

My song, “Virginia, the Home of My Heart,” is being considered alongside other candidates for the new State Song of Virginia! The Commonwealth initiated a contest for a new song several years ago; finalists were selected in that contest, but no winner was selected. The contest was suspended in 2002.

State Sen. Emmett Hanger is in charge of the search for a new State Song. He is a wonderfully kind and thoughtful man who has bravely undertaken the challenge of selection, along with a committee to aid in that selection process. In the years since the contest was suspended in 2002, Sen. Hanger says that he has received many additional candidates and determined that some of these are also worthy of consideration. I am honored that he includes my song on this list!

You can download “Virginia, the Home of My Heart” by right-clicking here, and I hope you will share it with your friends! If you are a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and you think this song would be a fitting musical representative for Virginia, you can express your support to Sen. Hanger via email or regular mail. You will need to include your full name and home address, so that the selection committee knows that you are a Virginia resident. Thank you so much for your support!

Dear friends,

Please consider making a monetary donation to the Bryan and Kathryn Harvey Family Memorial Endowment. You would be helping keep alive memories of the Harvey family and also fund music, visual art and performing arts enrichment in the Richmond area; this may include but is not limited to educational scholarships. The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central VA (tax ID # 23-7009135) created the fund in memory of Bryan, Kathryn, Stella and Ruby at the request of family and friends, and a committee of family and friends will advise the Community Foundation in use of the endowment. This is a 501(c)3 organization.

You can send donations to:
